Dave Kowalchuk

Dave Kowalchuk is a Vancouver based representational oil painter. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Edmonton, Dave moved to Vancouver in 2014. Working in his East Vancouver studio and outdoors, Dave focuses on landscape and portraiture. Beginning with realism, Dave uses heightened colour and texture to add to his compositions.

While his painting instruction began in 2003 at the University of Alberta, Dave has been pursuing his art independently since then, working with other local artists whenever possible to improve his craft. Dave creates his works from life or from his own photography, with the exception of certain commissions.
